Cairns is a symbol of the Great Barrier Reef. Innings strip of land that stretches along the Port of Cairns, gives the city a stamp of luxury. Attractions

The rapid development of tourism has destroyed much of the peculiar charm of this tropical colonial city, but, fortunately, there are virtually no large buildings. Ornamental banana trees with fan-shaped leaves and bright red, similar to parakeets, are growing about the noble neo-classical buildings.

In the city center at the corner of Lake and Shields the Museum of Cairns is located.
