History
Just two centuries have passed since that time between the trip to Sydney and hard labor an equal sign. Worth it to steal a handkerchief in London and the home of the mother sent her sons to settle in vast expanses of the unknown parts of the world. Port Jackson, later Sydney, was a suitable place for resettlement. The first settlers were convicts. They were identified in numerous ground rent, as well as the soldiers agreed to stay in Sydney. In 1792 a lease was 3,470 acres, including taken from Aborigines who resisted robbery. After almost 20 years after the discovery of Cook's Bay in Sydney in the sea came a fleet of 11 ships under the command of Captain Arthur Phillip. This first fleet drops anchor in the Gulf of Botany Bay. Despite the praise of Captain Cook on the bay, place the colony there was not possible. The soil was poor, bad parking. Phillip sent scouts to the north, and they found a Port Jackson, a huge, well-protected bay with a source of fresh water. Now there is the district of Rocks. The place was named in honor of Lord Sydney in Sydney, who chose him for the future of the colony.
