Australian Muslim Problems
Posted on 2011 under Culture and Cultural Problems | View Comments
The problem of coexistence of natives and immigrants from Muslim countries is acute not only in Europe but also in Australia. It is fully manifested itself several years ago. But today it is far from being solved.
In mid-March some disturbances took place at the Australian Christmas Island in a refugee camp (in the majority – immigrants from Muslim countries). People are queuing up to get an Australian passport, required to expedite the consideration of their documents. And on the way they rioted, which managed to calm down only with the help of strengthened police units.
Such stories make Australians ask a question: Does the country need new immigrants? Recently, a former immigration minister Kevin Andrews has accused the current leadership of the country in that it pays insufficient attention to the emergence of closed Islamic societies: "There is a risk (of enclaves) in Australia. And I worry that we can not even discuss the topic".
